Ann Arbor

Ann Arbor
The University of Michigan, a cosponsor of the meeting, is a major research institutions which is also well known for its strong and diverse undergraduate education program. The meeting will take place on the main campus in Ann Arbor. Ann Arbor has an extraordinary level of sophistication for a city of its size, and this makes it an exciting place to visit. There are museums to suit every taste, including the University's Exhibit Museum of Natural History, Kelsey Museum of Archeology and Museum of Art. The city's Hands-on Museum is popular with children and there is something for everyone at the Leslie Science Center. SGI's Ann Arbor Guide is an online resource for all kinds of facts and figures related to this mellow Midwestern metropolis. It covers Art, Museums, Libraries, Campus and Football, Community Services, Education, Government, Housing, Media, Parks and Recreation, Shopping, Transportation, and a Restaurant Guide.

As mentioned, the city has an abundance of art galleries, bookshops, coffee shops and performance spaces. Restaurants of every stripe make dining a pleasure, and outdoor activities center on an extensive system of parks and golf courses. Situated close to Detroit, Ann Arbor shares all the cultural benefits that this major metropolitan area has to offer. Among the many attractions of Detroit are the Detroit Institute of Arts, the African-American History Museum, the Detroit Historical Museum, the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village. Ann Arbor's privileged location near Canada and the Great Lakes provides diverse opportunities for outdoor activities and water sports in an area that is very popular for family vacations.
