Ann Arbor

Ann Arbor is easily accessible by car, lying at the junction of two major highways. Amtrak provides convenient rail service from Chicago, with trains stopping in Ann Arbor three times each day. Air travelers arrive from around the globe at the Detroit International Airport, which is served by all major airlines. A convenient commuter service bridges the 25 miles between the airport and Ann Arbor. Check for information on hotels, car rental, rail and air travel at Travel NOW.

Detroit Metropolitan Airport is located at I-94 and Merriman Road, about 25 miles east of Ann Arbor. Three terminals serve passengers on all major national airlines. There is an airport parking hotline for traffic and parking conditions: 1-800-642-1978. Be sure to consult the Detroit Metropolitan Airport Web site for detailed information on ground transportation from and to the airport.

Lodging
Several area facilities have reserved a block of rooms at a special rate for this event. Please contact the facility of your choice directly to make your reservation.Please mention that you are attending the Gomberg Symposium hosted by the University of Michigan when making your reservation.

Cambridge House Hotel
Please contact Cambridge House directly by phone: (734) 764-5297 or by fax: (734) 764-1557 to make a reservation. The hotel is located on the U-M campus at 541 Thompson Street. Rooms have either one or two twin beds. Each air-cooled room has a private bath (showers only), daily housekeeping, cable television. You will need to make your reservation by May 24, 2000 to receive the conference rate of $61 for a single occupancy and $71 for a double occupancy room.

Newberry Residence Hall
Please contact the front desk by phone: (734) 764-5297 or by fax: (734) 764-1557 to make a reservation. The residence hall is located on the U-M campus at 432 South State Street in Ann Arbor. Rooms feature twin beds, a floor shared bath and are NOT air-conditioned You will need to make your reservation by May 24, 2000 to receive the conference rate of $37.50 for a single occupancy and $47.50 for a double occupancy room.

Weber's Inn
Please contact Weber's Inn directly by phone: (734) 769-2500 or by fax: 734-769-4743 to make reservations. Weber's is located at 3050 Jackson Road, a short drive to the main UM campus. You will need to make your reservation by June 1, 2000 to receive the conference rate of $85 for a single or double occupancy room.

Holiday Inn North Campus
Please contact the Holiday Inn directly by phone (734) 769-9800 or by fax: (734) 761-1290 to make reservations. They are located at 3600 Plymouth Road, a short drive to the main UM campus. You will need to make your reservation by May 24, 2000 to receive the conference rate of $78 for a single or double occupancy room.
