About the Presenter:

Frances Knight is a graduate student in biomedical engineering at Vanderbilt University, with a background in infectious disease immunology, global health, and vaccine design. Her PhD research has focused on evaluating a pH-responsive nanoparticle delivery platform for use in mucosal vaccines against respiratory infections such as influenza. She also completed the Graduate Certificate in Global Health at Vanderbilt, as well as a master's degree in Immunology & Global Health at the National University of Ireland. Frances hopes to apply the skills learned in her graduate work toward vaccine implementation, uptake, and acceptance in low- and middle-income countries--she believes she can provide the kind of interdisciplinary expertise needed to drive this field forward.
