Promethia: The egg donor website Ron’s Angels is an example of individual eugenics, giving parents that freedom to choose the genetic makeup of their children today.  By choosing from a pool of women selected by desirable attributes (appearance, intelligence, family history), parents can find an egg donor whose traits they would most like to see in their child.  Referring to it as “assisted reproductive technology,” the director Ron Harris asserts that parents deserve to have their desires realized in the children that they will raise.  His service, he says, also helps parents who are not capable of having children on their own (Site 7).  It is a basic human right to choose, despite the capitalism that is involved.  The truth is that if these customers did not think it worth the tens of thousands of dollars that they would pay for this service, then they would not even consider this option.
