Promethia: But by doing this, science may be saving lives of innocent victims. Some feel that it is a humane duty to try and use science and medicine to create children who get the best possible start in their lives. This means ensuring that they receive favorable genes, as well as ensuring that unfavorable genes are absent.  This kind of practice is very different from the forced use of medical and scientific knowledge to eliminate all the problems in the world by producing biologically superior populations or simply executing those characterized as inferior.
