Conrad: If society gains the ability
to choose the total genetic make up of future children, how will those children
be expected to behave? Parents can
choose the genes that make up that child, but they cannot control the forces of
nature to ensure that those choices will be realized. How will a parent react if the child is not as smart as they were
chosen to be smart although the parents had specifically screened women whose
SAT scores and IQ s were phenomenally high?Â

Promethia: Health is a very important
subject within the framework of eugenics.Â
First, it must be defined. Most
think that health just means the truancy of sickness or disease. This definition is problematic because one
can still be, “out-of shape, nervous, on-edge, lacking in self-confidence, have
no stamina, feel completely awkward and unsure of yourself,” and be healthy by
the before-mentioned definition. A
better definition of health is not just the truancy of sickness and disease,
but also the insurance that a person is prospering and functioning above a
satisfactory level (Site 4).
