Conrad: It is simply not clear which
traits or attributes are properly perceived as perfect or optimal. The decision about what trait or behavior is
good or healthy depends upon the environment and circumstances that a child
will face. To pick traits, features, or
attributes is simply promoting prejudice. Â
Why promote prejudice now when one of recent historyÂ’s goals in this
country has been to do away with it?

Promethia: Certain traits such as
“physical stamina, strength, speed, mathematical ability, dexterity, and acuity
of vision” are related to health and are not considered extraneous traits. The majority would definitely agree on all
of the respective traits. One could not
be accused of abusing the system just because he wanted his child to never have
to wear glasses and have straight teeth (Site 4).
