Dinner and a Draft with Dennis C. Dickerson
Dinner and a Draft, with Dennis C. Dickerson
October 3, 2013
6:00-7:30 pm, Dean of the Commons Residence
You have to eat. And you have to write. We think that makes “Dinner and a Draft” a match made in heaven.
Join the Writing Studio for a feast hosted by Frank and Jane Wcislo at the Dean’s residence on the Ingram Commons on Thursday, October 3, from 6:00-7:30. Gather with us over a meal to talk about what’s most challenging and most rewarding about getting words on the page in college and afterwards.
Interested in how history gets written? In what it takes to write about big topics like the intersection of politics, religion and race? This might just be the dinner for you.
Our guest of honor for “Dinner and a Draft” on October 3 will be Professor Dennis C. Dickerson from History. A lauded teacher of writing who loves to write alongside his students in class, Professor Dickerson’s research focuses on American Labor History, the history of the U.S. civil rights movement and African American religious history. Don’t miss this chance to get to know Professor Dickerson and pick his brain about writing over dinner.
It’s going to be a fantastic evening. Space is limited, so please reserve a spot soon by clicking here.
