We want to offer a note of thanks, too, to all of the writers who chose to submit their pieces for consideration. This year the Morgan Award committee once again reviewed an impressive array of submissions–essays, fiction, and poetry–from Vanderbilt’s first-year students, and it is always an honor to see the fruits of our first-year students’ academic and creative labors, just as it is always a challenge to choose just a few writers to spotlight with the award.
