Dinner and a Draft with Faculty Guest Elsa Filosa, 11/1
You are invited to Dinner and a Draft, a chance to sit down to a great dinner, chat about writing, and get to know a Vanderbilt professor in a fun, informal setting.
The fall Dinner and a Draft event is coming up on Tuesday, November 1 at the Wyatt Center Room 310 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. with faculty guest Professor Elsa Filosa. Dr. Filosa is an Assistant Professor of Italian at Vanderbilt University. Her research focuses on fourteenth century Italian Literature with particular emphasis on Boccaccio, Petrarch, and Dante. Her recent book project, Boccaccio’s Florence: Politics and People in his Life and Work (Toronto: University of Toronto Press, June 2022) explores the financial, political, and social turbulence of Florence during this period, as well as the major players in literary and political circles, to understand the complex ways they emerge in Boccaccio’s writing.
Join the Writing Studio and our host Dean Moore as we share a meal, talk about the challenges and rewards of getting words on a page, and get to know Dr. Elsa Filosa.
