Registration Open for the Undergraduate Writing Symposium events on April 9 and April 15

Registration is now open for the two Undergraduate Writing Symposium events coming up in April 2021.

Save the dates and register today to join us for one or both of these events over Zoom as we shine a spotlight on the achievements of Vanderbilt’s undergraduate students as writers, whether they are composing fiction, poetry, essays for their courses, or independent research.

UWS: Creative Writing Showcase (schedule and links)

When: Friday, April 9, 3:00-6:00 PM CDT

We are excited to have you join us in celebrating Vanderbilt undergraduate authors from across the university and the poetry, fiction, nonfiction, and digital stories they will be sharing and discussing during this event.

Registration is required to attend the virtual session and for access to the (password-protected) online gallery of creative work to be available the week of the event.

The Academic Writing Showcase will feature first-year authors as well as authors of advanced undergraduate research projects presenting and discussing their work following a keynote presentation, “The Meaningful Writing Project and Revisioning Research,” by Anne Ellen Geller.

Anne Ellen Geller, PhD is Professor of English and Director of Writing Across Communities at St. John’s University as well as one of three co-researchers of The Meaningful Writing Project and co-author of The Meaningful Writing Project: Learning, Teaching, and Writing in Higher Education (Utah State University Press 2016) and Teaching Meaningful Writing (under contract with West Virginia University Press).
