Graduate Writing Workshop on Revising Large Projects 10/9
Graduate Writing Workshop: Revision Tools for Reorganizing Large Projects
Friday, October 9 at 1 pm on Zoom.
Are you working on a longer piece, such as a prospectus or a dissertation chapter? Do you know that your project needs to be reorganized? Are you unsure how to begin large-scale structural revisions? Then this workshop is for you!
Participants will become familiar with and begin to practice the concrete strategies of reverse outlining, notecarding, re-outlining, and cutting-and-pasting. This workshop also allows each participant the opportunity to step away from the screen and work with a hard copy of their project.
Materials: In order to best benefit from the workshop, it is recommended that each participant have the following available for use during the workshop:
-
A hard copy of the piece of writing to be reorganized/revised
-
Note cards (notebook paper or printer paper cut into notecard-sized rectangles will work, too)
-
Writing utensil
-
Highlighters
-
Scissors
-
Tape
To participate, please complete a registration form. A Zoom link will be provided following registration. Please email simone.mccarter@vanderbilt.edu for additional information.
