Dinner and a Draft with Dr. Carwil Bjork-James, January 30
Thursday, January 30, 2020
6:00-7:30 p.m.
Dean of the Ingram Commons Residence
Get a great dinner. Get a new perspective on writing. Get to know a professor in a fun, informal setting. Those are three reasons you should attend “Dinner and a Draft,” coming up on Thursday, January 30 from 6:00-7:30 pm, at the Dean of the Ingram Commons Residence!
Our faculty guest for the spring semester will be Assistant Professor Carwil Bjork-James. Dr. Bjork-James is a cultural anthropologist whose work focuses on strategies of grassroots autonomy and disruptive protest in Latin America. His book, The Sovereign Street: Making Revolution in Urban Bolivia (UArizona Press, 2020), analyzes the takeover and use of urban space by grassroots social movements, particularly in the cities of Cochabamba, Sucre, and La Paz.
Join the Writing Studio and our host Dean Gresalfi as we share a meal, talk about the challenges and rewards of getting words on the page, and get to know Dr. Bjork-James.
Space is limited so reserve a spot here soon.
(*First-year students given priority for this event which is held in partnership with the Dean of the Ingram Commons.)
