Thursday, February 22 | 6:00 p.m. | Black Cultural Center
Join co-sponsors the Margaret Cuninggim Women’s Center, the Black Cultural Center, and the Vanderbilt HIV Vaccine Program for a screening of Wilhemina’s War. This film tells the story of Wilhemina Dixon, a daughter of sharecroppers who becomes a force in her family’s fight against HIV and AIDS. In sharing Wilhemina’s story, this film underscores the structural issues that contribute to the rising trend of HIV-positive women in the South.
Refreshments will be served and HIV/AIDS focused community organizations will table before the film begins.
