Dore Slam is the Vanderbilt Athletic Bands' winter drumline and performs at home games for Vanderbilt Men's and Women's Basketball. Membership is open to all students attending Vanderbilt University as well as other Nashville area universities (including Belmont University, Lipscomb University, Nashville State Community College, and Trevecca Nazarene University among others), although non-Vanderbilt students should communicate with Dr. Morin concerning participation requirements.

- Marching Snare
- Marching Tenors (Quads)
- Marching Bass Drum
- Marching Cymbals
Auditions / Placement Assessment
We do not have auditions. The Vanderbilt Athletic Bands accept all persons willing to put in the effort to make the band successful. The purpose of the Part Placement Session is to make sure everyone is placed in a role that allows for success without undue stress. The Athletic Bands move quickly, and we understand that our members are students.
Dore Slam is open to students at all levels of percussion experience and the Part Placement Session will find the best fit for you in the ensemble.
This in-person session is typically held in November-December.
Travel
Starting in the 2025 season, select Dore Slam members will have the ability to travel alongside the Anchor of Sound Basketball Band to the Men's and Women's SEC Tournaments.
Cost
There is no fee to join the Dore Slam Drumline. Members receive a Service Award for every game they play!
