Biography
Albert Attia, MD is a board-certified radiation oncologist and Assistant Professor of Radiation Oncology. He also holds a secondary faculty appointment in the Department of Neurosurgery. Dr. Attia completed his undergraduate and medical degrees at Vanderbilt University. He then completed his residency in Radiation Oncology at Wake Forest University and served as Chief Resident in his final year.
Dr. Attia belongs to a number of professional organizations including the American Society of Radiation Oncology (ASTRO), Society of Neuro-oncology (SNO), and the North American Skull Base Society (NASBS). His primary clinical and research interest include tumors of the brain and lung cancer. He is actively involved in clinical trial development where he is Principal Investigator of several trials and leads image-guided radiation research in collaboration with the School of Engineering and the Vanderbilt University Institute of Imaging Science. In addition to his clinical responsibilities, Dr. Attia serves as the Residency Program Director. In this role, he serves to build the educational program for the residents who are training to be radiation oncologists. He is also the Director of Radiosurgery Program.
