About the Speakers:

Dr. Evan Brittain, MD earned his medical degree at the Weill Cornell College of Medicine. He then completed Internal Medicine residency and Cardiology fellowship at Vanderbilt as a member of the Harrison Society, the Department of Medicine’s Physician Scientist training pathway. His clinical and research interests focus on using advanced imaging techniques to study the hemodynamic and metabolic determinants of myocardial failure. He joined the faculty in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine in 2013 and is currently enrolled in Vanderbilt’s Master of Science in Clinical Investigation program.

Dr. Brett Byram, PhD earned his Ph.D. in biomedical engineering from Duke University and then stayed on as a research assistant professor.  In August 2013 Brett joined the Biomedical Engineering department at Vanderbilt University.  He has spent time working in the Danish center for fast ultrasound and also in Siemens Healthcare’s ultrasound division.  He currently runs the Biomedical Elasticity and Acoustic Measurement (BEAM) Laboratory where he and the lab pursue solutions to clinical problems using ultrasound.
