Speaker Bio: Dr. Alexander Langerman, MD is a head and neck surgeon and researcher who studies the operating room. He has a diverse surgical practice, with special interest in parapharyngeal and infratemporal fossa lesions, complex airway reconstruction, and advanced cutaneous and parotid neoplasms. His research focuses on the intersection of ethics, data science, and management in the operating room, and he has faculty positions in the Vanderbilt Center for Biomedical Ethics and Society and the Vanderbilt Institute for Surgery and Engineering. Dr. Langerman holds a masters degree in clinical and administrative data science and is a fellowship-trained head and neck surgeon and and clinical medical ethicist. He is also Chief Medical Officer of ExplORer Surgical, a startup he co-founded that specializes in real-time surgical data acquisition.
