Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program is a competitive but growing program that encourages researchers and domestic small businesses to engage in collaborative Research/Research and Development (R/R&D) that has the potential for commercialization. Through a competitive awards-based program, SBIR enables small businesses to explore their technological potential and provides the incentive to profit from its commercialization. Mark H. Henry, Founder of Grow Emerging Companies LLC, is a nationally known expert in the $2.5 billion federal Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs will be presenting on the topic

Biomedical Research Funding Opportunity Development Workshops, May 21 and 22nd
Two workshops on how to generate biomedical research funding will be held :
9 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 21, in Medical Center North, Room C2209.
2 to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, in Buttrick Hall, Room 101.
These workshop is part of an effort to attract private support and to discuss how Vanderbilt researchers can be more competitive in corporate and foundation funding sources.
