Patent success by ViSE researchers

On March 26, 2013 the USPTO issued patent 8,403,828 to Dr. Louise Mawn (Opthamology) and Dr. Bob Galloway (Biomedical Engineering).  

The “Ophthalmic Orbital Surgery Apparatus and Method and Image-Guide Navigation System”  device allows physicians to safely reach the optic nerve behind the eye without surgery for the purpose of delivering therapy.  The device has promise for a number of diseases or conditions which are, at present, not treated or poorly treated.
