Ratiometric pH sensor using luminescent CuInS2/ZnS quantum dots and fluorescein
Koktysh, DS
Hybrid nanostructure from visible, NIR emitting CuInS2/ZnS QDs and fluorescein was fabricated for pH measurements based on ratiometric techniques. A single wavelength was used for excitation while the ratio between emission peaks from CuInS2/ZnS QDs and fluorescein in conjugate was used to estimate the pH of solution. This novel conjugated system permits multiwavelength emission which allows dual channel imaging. Hybrid nanostructure can be further modified to attach to biologically active sites, this suggests the very real possibility of intracellular structural pH measurements.
