3 Materials Science alumnae participate in the 2nd annual Women in Engineering Panel and Mentorship Meet and Greet

On Thursday Nov 2nd, the Mechanical Engineering and Interdisciplinary Materials Science at Vanderbilt University hosted the second annual Women in Engineering Panel and Mentorship Meet and Greet. The panel hosted 8 Female Vanderbilt Alumni from the Mechanical Engineering and Interdisciplinary Materials Science (IMS) Graduate Program to meet with our female undergraduate and graduate students and answer questions about career development, challenges faced based on gender, and then met with our students to establish mentorship relationships. The panel featured three Ph.D. graduates from the IMS program, including Dr. Melissa Wert, Dr. Anna Douglas, and Dr. Stephanie Gilbert Corder, and five graduates from the Mechanical Engineering program including Dr. Margaret Rox, Dr. Ashley S Gatlin, Prof. Kirsten Heikkinen Dodson, Prof. Jenna Gorlewicz, and Ms. Lauren Branscombe, with the last four having served on this panel last year.
