You Zhou earned his Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Materials Science in August 2020 under the supervision of Prof. Jason Valentine. You Zhou’s PhD research is to address the current trend towards miniaturization of photonic devices and nanophotonic systems. In one key advance, You developed 3D cascaded flat optics as a pathway for adding complexity and functionality to light-based technologies. In the second advance, You has demonstrated an optical computing platform for large-scale and real-time image processing with minimal power consumption. After graduation, You Zhou has worked with Prof. Andrea Alu, the Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors as a postdoctoral fellow. Currently he is a research scientist at KLA in the Bay Area, USA.
