Abstract:The past decade has seen rapid progress in size-tuned colloidal quantum dots, which offer customizable UV, visible, and infrared light absorption and emission. The past few years have seen the rapid ascent of the metal organic halide perovskites, which provide excellent optoelectronic properties including record-long photocarrier diffusion lengths. Here we report on our group’s latest efforts to build practical devices for efficient, low-cost solar energy capture and light generation using these advanced energy materials and combinations thereof.
