About the Presenters:
Harriett Myers is currently pursuing a Master of Public Health degree in Global Health at Vanderbilt university. She is also working towards a graduate certificate in Latin American Studies. Harriett is a graduate assistant at the Vanderbilt Institute for Global Health with the Education and Training team. She has studied and volunteered in public health organizations across Latin America, most recently in 2019 at Primeros Pasos, a primary health clinic in Guatemala. Harriett’s interests lie within community health research, education, and advocacy, especially among marginalized populations.
Yasmina Haddad is currently pursuing a Master of Education degree in International Education Policy and Management at Vanderbilt’s Peabody College where she also received her Bachelor of Science degree in Disability Studies in 2017. Yasmina is also working towards a Certificate in Global Health from Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Prior to starting her graduate degree, Yasmina taught English for two years, first in Jaipur, India and then in Chicago, IL, where she saw firsthand how integral both academic and health education are to a child’s success both in and out of school.
