My goal is to help you explore and define what true wellness means for you, and to provide support and guidance as you work towards actualizing that vision. Together, we will create a safe and inclusive space where every aspect of your individuality is honored and celebrated.

Dr. Owusu is a proud HBCU alumnus, having earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Florida A&M University. She received her Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Counseling Psychology from the University of Georgia. Dr. Owusu completed her doctoral internship at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD. After her training, Dr. Owusu served as the coordinator of services for BIPOC & First Generation, Low-income Students at Georgetown University Counseling and Psychiatric Services.

Dr. Owusu has trained and worked in a variety of settings with diverse populations across the life span. She has experience working with a range of clinical concerns including anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, family conflict, identity exploration, work-life balance, academic concerns, relationship issues, etc. Dr. Owusu particularly enjoys exploring intersections of identity and mental health including but not limited to experiences related to race, ethnicity, gender, and class. She considers herself to be an integrative therapist based in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). Dr. Owusu’s approach is also heavily influenced by multicultural, feminist, and internal family systems perspectives. She is committed to empowering her clients through a strength-based, holistic approach and creating a meaningful alliance in a space which is collaborative, brave, and authentic.

Outside of her professional commitments, Dr. Owusu enjoys quality time with family and friends, exploring the vibrant city of Nashville, and indulging in her favorite reality TV shows.
