Nora McNulty, M.A.
Doctoral Intern
Pronouns: she/her/hers
I believe in the healing power of personal insight. In understanding the why behind our struggles, I believe we are better equipped to influence how we cope with them. My goal as a therapist is to provide clients with a safe space to do the necessary self-reflection – exploring their thoughts, feelings, behaviors, recurring patterns, identities, prior experiences, etc. – to better know themselves, and ultimately, to lead more intentional and fulfilling lives.
Nora is actively pursuing her Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from Alliant International University, San Diego. Prior to joining the UCC, she has worked in a variety of clinical settings including a community mental health center, college counseling site, and private practice. Across these settings, Nora has continued to find unique fulfillment working with young adults navigating the challenges of early adulthood.
Nora conceptualizes primarily through a psychodynamic lens, considering clients’ past experiences, interpersonal relationships, and recurring themes in their lives to make sense of their unique lived experiences. Additionally, Nora incorporates evidence-based interventions from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
Outside of work, Nora enjoys hiking, cooking, yoga, exploring Nashville, and spending time with loved ones.
