MacKenzie Enderwitz, Psy.D., LMFT
Postdoctoral Fellow
Pronouns: she/her/hers
I’m so proud of you for taking this step forward in your healing journey. ‘Putting in the work’ in therapy is a vulnerable and often challenging process, so my goal is to create an environment that feels authentic, affirming, and empowering. I believe that the societal and cultural systems built around a person heavily influence how they interact with their world (and how the world interacts with them). My hope for treatment is to provide a collaborative space to process these experiences, as well as highlight the client’s resilience.
MacKenzie received her Psy.D. in Health Service Psychology from the University of Houston-Clear Lake and completed her doctoral internship at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville’s student counseling center. She holds a B.S. in Psychology and M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Houston-Clear Lake. She is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in Texas. Her clinical experience includes individual, couple, family, and group therapy in predominantly higher education and private practice settings.
MacKenzie primarily uses an integrative approach to treatment with an emphasis on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), systems theory, and feminist therapy. She conceptualizes cases with consideration to cultural and societal factors that influence an individual’s overall wellbeing.
Areas of Interest: LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent students, identity-exploration, graduate and medical students, interpersonal relationships, relational trauma
Outside of work, MacKenzie spends most of her free time gaming, listening to music (with a soft spot for alternative, rock, and metal), working on a craft project, and chilling on the couch with her dog.
