I am honored to collaborate with students throughout their therapeutic and diagnostic journeys. My approach is grounded in authenticity and empathy, providing a nonjudgmental space where each person’s unique story is heard and valued. Whether we are disentangling the impact of past traumas on daily life or developing effective coping strategies for everyday stressors, I am committed to supporting my clients with genuine presence and dedication.
Beccah O’Brien began her academic journey at San Diego Mesa College, subsequently earning her undergraduate degree in Psychology with a minor in Cultural Proficiency from San Diego State University. She completed her Master’s of Science in Clinical Psychology and is currently in her fourth year of the PhD program in Clinical Psychology at Palo Alto University, with a specialization in trauma. At present, Beccah serves as an advanced practicum trainee at the University Counseling Center (UCC), where she is focused on enhancing her skills in psychological assessment. Her research interests include adolescent psychopathology, intergenerational trauma, and substance use, and she directs the Palo Alto Addiction Research Center (PAARC Lab), which concentrates on substance use among college-aged individuals. Beccah’s clinical experience spans work with children, adolescents, young adults, and adults across community mental health settings, school-based environments, and outpatient programs.
Outside of her professional pursuits, she enjoys spending time with her family, exploring nature, and attending live music events.
