Pronouns: she/her/hers
I strive to provide patient-centered care that is both compassionate and inclusive to all students. My goal as a psychiatric nurse practitioner is to support students through their academic journey by developing strong therapeutic relationships and using evidence-based medication management.
Amber is a Board-Certified Family Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who joined the UCC in 2022. She obtained her Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biology from Belmont University and her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Vanderbilt University School of Nursing. Amber completed her Behavioral Health training at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in a variety of settings including Child & Adolescent Psychiatry and Consultation Liaison Services. During the completion of her master’s, she also worked as a Psychiatric Assessment RN at CMC Parthenon Pavilion.
Amber has experience working with several populations including, but not limited to, individuals with mood disorders, substance use disorders, anxiety disorders, and developmental disorders. She believes that all patients should have access to excellent mental healthcare, regardless of socioeconomic status, race, gender, sexuality, etc. She hopes to provide holistic patient care that aims to meet students where they are in their mental health journey.
Amber is a Nashville Native, and in her free time she enjoys singing, trying new restaurants with her significant other, and spending time with friends and family. Prior to practicing as a nurse practitioner, Amber worked for a large healthcare company in various roles which included implementing clinician technology and providing communications support for patient privacy.
