Group Learning Support (overview)

In addition to one-on-one tutoring sessions, Tutoring Services offers two different types of group-based learning support:

All Group-based learning support types are held in-person at the various Tutoring Services locations around campus. Please follow the links above for detailed information on each type of session. You may also look directly in our online scheduler (WCOnline) and select Group Schedule to see if we offer a Roundtable or a Drop-In Hour session in the STEM course you need. Pair Appointments are always made through our One-on-One schedule and the paired friend is added via a separate form.

As per our Appointment Policies, group appointments can be scheduled via our online scheduler (WCOnline) up to 7 days in advance with a limit of one appointment per day and two hours of group appointment time per week in fall (three per week in spring).

These limits are independent of the number of individual tutoring appointments a student can schedule, and we encourage students to consider using both. That’s why Tutoring Services maintains separate WCOnline schedules for 1-on-1 and Group Study appointments, and students can easily switch between the one-on-one and group schedules from within our system.

Note that our Cancellation Policy for Group Sessions is more strict than for individual tutoring sessions, requiring that group cancellations be made at least four hours before the start of the session. Failure to cancel group appointments at least 4 hours in advance is subject to our Missed Appointment Policy.


The Waiting List Feature

Group sessions can fill up quickly, so plan ahead when you can (remember you can schedule 7 days in advance) and when you don’t see any openings keep in mind our scheduler’s waiting list feature, as well, to get notified about cancellations.
