Tutoring Services – end of spring semester
Tutoring Services – end of spring semester
Hello from Tutoring Services ~
Welcome to the end of your spring semester. As you are planning for your finals, do remember to make an appointment with Tutoring Services for a one-on-one appointment, a group Roundtable appointment, or work with a friend in one of our pair appointments!
For those in MATH 1200 and 1201, we wanted to make sure you had a dedicated space to meet with one of our excellent math tutors. Sunday night, April 23, 8pm – 9pm, meet with Alejandra at 1801 Edgehill.
CHEM 1602 students, please stop in at the Commons Fireside Lounge every Sunday to see Mike, and every Monday to see Nathan, from 6pm – 7pm. For those in General Chemistry, Biological Sciences Intro, or MATH 1200, you can swing by for a quick drop in hour with Mike on Sundays from 7pm – 8pm and with Nathan on Mondays from 7pm – 8pm.
Looking Ahead to Summer
In Summer 2023, Tutoring Services will again offer in-person and online support during Summer Sessions 1 and 2 which begin on Tuesday, June 6 and end on Friday, August 11. All Tutoring Services programs are free and open to all enrolled Vanderbilt students whether you are taking your summer course at Vanderbilt or elsewhere.
We invite you to consider our Summer Tutor Match option, which allows you to set up regularly occurring, weekly sessions with a peer tutor for the full semester. Since summer sessions are only four weeks long, we will prioritize early Summer Tutor Match set ups with any of our Summer tutors. Students are also welcome to use Tutoring Services summer tutors on an as-needed basis, signing up for one of the tutors’ sessions as they are available.
Check back with our website in mid-May for the full Summer Tutoring lineup! Or email Dr. Erickson with any questions.
Don’t forget, you can always request a Pair Appointment
Request a Pair Appointment – Invite a Study Partner to Your Tutoring Session
In addition to our 1-on-1 tutoring appointments, students have the option of scheduling an appointment online and then requesting a fellow student be allowed to join the appointment for a 2-on-1 “pair appointment” with the STEM tutor.
For students, a pair appointment is an opportunity for two study partners (in the same course and with similar goals) to work jointly with a tutor. For Tutoring Services, pair appointment requests help us reach more students, especially at times of peak demand.
