Options for accessing campus with mobility concerns.
Accessible Parking
Handicap spaces are available in multiple locations on campus. These spaces are available in lots and parking garages, as well as in proximity to campus buildings.
Individuals with permanent physical disabilities will be accommodated in accordance with Vanderbilt University, State of Tennessee, and federal regulations. Parking in designated ♿ spaces requires a state-issued disability plate or placard in addition to a valid University Permit.
If you have special requirements for mobility, you must contact Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) or Student Access Services (SAS). These offices will coordinate with the Office of Parking Services to determine the best solution for your needs. They can be reached at the following links:
Mobility Rides
Electric golf carts are available to provide rides for those with medical or accessibility needs. The service is a joint project among the Equal Opportunity and Access, Student Access, Vanderbilt University Public Safety and Transportation and Mobility offices.
Students with medical or accessibility needs must register for this service with and be approved through the Student Access Office. If you would like to access the pre-approved mobility rides, contact Student Access through the online portal or at (615) 343-9727.
Pregnant students with accessibility needs must register with and be approved by the Title IX Office for this service. Submit the Pregnancy Accommodation Request Form through the Title IX Office’s website. Call 615-343-9004 or email TitleIX@Vanderbilt.edu with any questions related to pregnant and parenting student accommodations.

Additional services for individuals with medical or accessibility needs:
- Request an escort from Vanderbilt University Public Safety (VUPS) by calling dispatch at the non-emergency number at (615) 322-2745.
- VandyRide, the nighttime on campus shuttle service, has one ADA shuttle that can be diverted from the regular routes to an individual in need.
- WeGo Access paratransit door-to-door service within Nashville/Davidson County is free to eligible faculty, staff and students with permanent, long-term or short-term disabilities with their physical Commodore Card. Applications and eligibility information can be found on WeGo’s website or by calling 615-880-3596.
- Construction detours may impact guests to campus. Event coordinators may need to rent golf carts and utilize event staff drivers for campus visitors with mobility assistance needs. Mobility Rides are not available for campus visitors.
