Welcome back to the Wond’ry
Ambassador Spotlight
A new semester at Vandy brings fresh faces, new outlooks, and a variety of new programming and events to get involved with at the Wond’ry! Whether you are an HOD student interested in the MakerSpace or a MechE student wanting to learn the best ways to network, there is something for everyone here. The new month of September kicks-off the return of one of our most popular programs: MakerSpace Workshops. Hosted in the MakerSpace Lab on the 2nd floor of the Wond’ry, interested students can attend Sewing Workshops, Design Sketching, and even Foam Core Modeling, which is a course that gives students the opportunity to fabricate life-sized Lego heads!
In addition to different event offerings, the start of the new school year also brings some new tools, technology, and artwork to the Wond’ry. The first floor showcases student art and projects from multiple majors and disciplines. One of the current pieces displayed is the “Wknot” and is a string-art structure that draws on the engineering and art backgrounds of creators Josh Forges and Jay Cavenaugh. A Virtual Reality Lab and an Autism Faculty Lab are two new additions to the Wond’ry, as well. These labs will be housed on the 2nd floor of the space and have interactive aspects and displays that will allow students to explore different areas of innovation in technology and research.
The possibilities at the Wond’ry are seemingly endless, and we are excited to have students back on campus to get involved. To learn more about events, programs, and the exciting projects and artwork, follow us on Social Media, check out our website, or stop in for a visit!
