Austin Dirks is a veteran of the healthcare, medical device, and technology industry, serving as CEO and Founder of GreenLight Medical for the past 8 years, growing the company from idea to execution, prior to acquisition by symplr in 2022. GreenLight Medical is a cloud software company helping hospitals to introduce, evaluate, and purchase new medical technology for use by physicians. Austin now serves as a Vice President within symplr’s governance, risk, and compliance business pillar helping manage the integration of the GreenLight Medical product into the existing symplr technology products, as well as establishing future product direction.
Before founding GreenLight Medical, Austin worked as a cardiac medical device representative for St. Jude Medical (acquired by Abbott), as well as for Thoratec Corporation, working on merger and acquisition opportunities with the Business Development team.
Austin holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Biomedical Engineering from Vanderbilt University. An entrepreneur with a passion for supporting technology and entrepreneurship in the Nashville community, Austin is a frequent guest lecturer and volunteer at his alma mater, Vanderbilt University, and is a member of the Nashville Entrepreneur Center. At Vanderbilt, Austin was a member of the Track and Field team as a pole vaulter, as well as Sigma Chi Fraternity. Austin is a native of Lincoln, NE and patiently awaits the next Nebraska football National Championship.
