Mentors at the Wond’ry
Ambassador Spotlight
One of my favorite aspects of the Wond’ry is the Mentors in Residence program. This program is designed to increase learning outside of the classroom in addition to encouraging the pursuit of meaningful connections that lead to independent entrepreneurial and creative endeavors. Held on the third floor, mentors hold one-on-one open office hours so that students can receive personalized guidance and gain access to years of expertise in the fields they hope to enter. Our mentors have a wide spread of experiences and backgrounds in fields ranging from law and health care to fields such as business and technology. In addition to their scheduled Office Hours, mentors usually make themselves available through appointments by contact, and have hosted several workshops and lectures at the Wond’ry as well!
Two of our mentors include Jessica and Adam Harthcock who are the founders of Utilize Health. Utilize Health is a company dedicated to helping those with complex health conditions navigate their course of care. UH focuses on the whole patient by assisting them with medical, social and environmental needs. This past summer, I had the privilege of working as a Research Analyst Intern with Utilize Health and was able to gain valuable insight and experience into the analysis of health care data, interacting with medical professionals, and learn more about what it takes to build a business. If you have an interest in health care, entrepreneurship, and/or business start-up, then I recommend dropping into office hours with Jessica or Adam! They are only a couple of the amazing mentors that volunteer their time to mentorship at the Wond’ry.
