The Wond’ry provides the tools and resources for students, faculty, staff, and community members to bring ideas to life.
The Wond’ry features Making and Design (MAD) spaces outfitted with state-of-art equipment to take your idea from concept to prototype. Our mission is to provide students, faculty and staff with the tools, training, and resources to pursue their passions and actualize ideas. Workshops are designed to equip both beginners and more advanced participants with the skills they need to achieve their projects.
Exploring the Team/Individual Polarity
This interactive workshop guides you in navigating the balance between team dynamics and individual contributions. We will learn and apply frameworks to leverage both collective and individual strengths for innovation and effective leadership.
Drawing from the principles of systems-led leadership and polarity management, we’ll explore how to cultivate a collaborative environment in which you are able to build on your skills while encouraging others in their own growth. Topics will include aligning individual passions with team goals, fostering shared ownership, and adapting to complex, ever-changing circumstances. We will provide opportunities to deepen your learning as you practice addressing your own contexts and challenges.
Through a FAB Lab community partnership with Family Connects Colorado at Boulder County Public Health, utilizing feedback gathered in focus group, we will design and make customized garments to serve new moms in their emotional and physical journey in the weeks following giving birth.
Learning outcomes will include the human centered design process for problem solving, tools and techniques for designing clothing, and some sewing and pattern drafting fundamentals.
No prerequisites for this workshop, although having taken Sewing Fundamentals is recommended.
