Experiences at the Wond’ry

Posted by on Friday, March 10, 2017 in Blog.

While being here at the Wond’ry I have had the opportunity to meet great people and be exposed to different opportunities that have helped me grow and expand personally and professionally.

First, the mentors they have available to students is an awesome resource. I have met two mentors sitting on the 3rd floor, who have been great and open and willing to help me through my journey of starting a business. They offer sound advice and prompt me to think about things I haven’t thought about in relation to my idea. It’s also great talking with people who have started from the bottom and are moving their way to the top. Also, hearing about the good, bad and ugly experiences entrepreneurs go through is a way learning and taking seeds of information and applying it to my business journey.

Second, the space is conducive to being productive and collaborative. From the natural lighting pouring in to the motivating phrases that can be found throughout the building, the Wond’ry is a great place for learning, collaborating, and productivity. This place beats studying in my room or a dreary building any day.

Third, the events and opportunities to explore is phenomenal. While here I have, created a Lego head made of foam, learned the developmental stages of building a business, learning how to move forward with the legal aspects of running a business, discussed the mental side of being an entrepreneur, 3D printed molds and made actual crayons, and the list goes on and on. The Wond’ry gives students the opportunity to explore subjects they might not have had exposure to otherwise and gives them the ability to have a taste of everything without committing a major or paying for a class. This place is great resource if you want to dibble and dabble in one thing or dibble and dabble in everything. It’s the place to explore and learn more about you and what you love. If you haven’t already checked out the Wond’ry, come by and take a tour and find out what’s available to you and your imagination.
