Elizabeth began her career in education by putting her passion for literature to work teaching at-risk students in New York City’s neediest public schools. After three years as a New York City Teaching Fellow, Elizabeth turned to graduate school and earned her PhD in English at Vanderbilt. Her current book project examines how various authors use marriage to make claims about the social and material power of literary form in Victorian literature and culture. She has most recently held a 2-year New Faculty Fellowship from the American Council of Learned Societies at Mount Holyoke College. In addition to her book project, she is starting work on a digital archive on fin de siecle artists and writers—this archive will begin with the work of the poet Michael Field and spiral out to include material from the many other writers, artists, and thinkers in their network of friends.
