Commons Campus Overview
The Commons is a place and an idea. It is very different from life in a dormitory.
The Commons is a campus for first-year students and residential faculty recruited from the most distinguished scholar-teachers found in the schools of the university. Consisting of ten houses grouped around four quads, The Commons brings all first-year students together in one of the most historic and picturesque areas of the Vanderbilt campus. Students will have numerous opportunities to meet and to personally know the faculty who will live in The Commons as well as other distinguished professors, speakers, and professionals that Vanderbilt attracts. The Commons will balance the dynamic energies of a major research university with the collegiate sense of community. You can also see a of the Commons
