Vanderbilt and Cintas celebrate America Recycles Day with a VU Community Paper Shred Day on Tuesday, November 15

On Tuesday, November 15 from 7:30 am – 3:00 pm, Vanderbilt’s Sustainability and Environmental Management Office (SEMO) in conjunction with VU’s confidential paper shredding partner, Cintas, will celebrate America Recycles Day with a Community Paper Shred Day offering free paper, magazine, and book shredding to all VU faculty, staff and students. Paper items from Vanderbilt and home will be accepted for shredding. After items are shredded, all paper products will be recycled.

When: Tuesday, November 15 from 7:30 am – 3:00 pm

Where: TWO LOCATIONS

  • Off Garland Avenue behind Eskind Biomedical Library
  • The corner of 24th Avenue and Vanderbilt Place between Branscomb Quad and Sarratt student center

Acceptable Items:

  • All Paper items
  • Magazines
  • Soft cover books
  • Hard cover books
  • Staples and paper clips are acceptable and will be recycled

Last year, the Vanderbilt community recycled 8,750 pounds of paper at this event, and we hope to recycle even more this year!

The purpose of nationally recognized America Recycles Day is promoting recycling programs across the United States. It was started in 1997 by Keep America Beautiful.
