Interested in developing your leadership skills and taking your style to the next level? This certificate is designed to help you develop essential leadership competencies, build confidence, and make a meaningful impact in your community and career. This cohort will last for 5 weeks, with a weekly session in the evening led by Vanderbilt staff. Undergraduates, graduates, and professional students are encouraged to apply.

Join Student Organizations, Leadership, and Service as we kick off the inaugural Leadership Week! We invite students, faculty, and staff to experience the week-long opportunities to engage both personally and professionally through a range of programs and workshops designed to develop and strengthen your leadership skills and grow as a leader at Vanderbilt University and beyond. Leadership Week will take place the week of February 17 – February 20th in the Leadership and Service Space at 2402 Vanderbilt Place. Workshops and programs may cover one of the four themes of leadership: career, community engagement, mindfulness and wellbeing, and self-development.

Monday, February 17 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. : Leadership Week KICKOFF on Rand Wall
Tuesday, February 18 from 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. : Community with the Titans discusses community engagement, leadership, and learn more about the Tennessee Titans community impact initiatives.
Presenter: Miranda McDonald, Director of Community Programs- One Community & Titans Foundation
Wednesday, February 19th from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. : What’s your Why? Understanding Positionality to Maximize Advocacy explores the importance of self-awareness and understanding one’s positionality—personal identities, experiences, and social locations—in leadership and advocacy. The session emphasizes the role of authentic, purpose-driven leadership in fostering equity and inclusion.

Wednesday, February 19th from 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. : Encouraging the Heart: Recognition Matters focuses on the importance of recognizing and celebrating the contributions of individuals within a team or organization.

Thursday, February 20th from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. : Balancing Student Leadership & Personal Wellbeing is designed to help student leaders develop strategies for managing their leadership responsibilities while prioritizing their mental health and personal well-being. The goal is to equip students with tools to thrive in their leadership roles without compromising their personal growth and overall well-being.
