Home for the Holidays

Friday, December 1st @ 12pm-2pm

Join us on Friday, December 1 to recognize World AIDS Day and come together to celebrate all holidays this winter. Home for the Holidays is an annual program for the entire Vanderbilt community to share a wonderful meal, check-in before winter break, and give back to the many communities we share.

Streetworks, a local Nashville organization, will be present offering free confidential HIV testing. We will also be creating holiday cards for incarcerated LGBTQI+ folks as a part of the yearly traditions of the national organization Black & Pink.

Holiday-style meal provided by Copper Kettle.

P.R.I.D.E. Training

Thursday, February 8th, 2018 @ 5pm-8pm

Monday, March 19th, 2018 @ 2pm-5pm

The PRIDE (Pursuing Respect, Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity) Training program aims to create a tangible network of support for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and intersex (LGBTQI+) individuals and their allies by providing an educational experience through which any member of the Vanderbilt community can show their support. The three hour interactive workshop encourages students, faculty, and staff to explore their personal identities, cultural identities, privilege, and what it means to be an ally for all communities. After attending this workshop you have the choice to take a PRIDE Placard, which indicates you are someone who has received training and is willing and able to engage around issues of sexual and gender identity. RSVP on our website!
