Martha Harris Retires

Posted by on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 in News Blurbs.

Martha Harris in 310 Sarratt has announced that she will be retiring from Vanderbilt University effective December 31, 2016.  Her last day in the office will be Wednesday, December 21.  Staff will receive a Save the Date email regarding a planned January 2017 retirement celebration for Martha.  Let’s congratulate Martha on her upcoming retirement!

Martha’s words: My twenty-one years at Vanderbilt have been filled with many exciting and joyful moments, with only a very few sad memories.  My life and career has been blessed with incredible colleagues, who I am so happy to call my wonderful friends.  I will, indeed, miss so many folks of whom I just love to death, but there comes a time when you just know it’s time to go, and that time is now.  My husband retired 4 years ago and has taken some incredible trips around the states without me, but he has promised to repeat some of those trips and take me with him.  I am so looking forward to that, in addition to playing with and taking care of my precious grandchildren –a new one is on the way!!!  I’m also looking forward to spending more time with my 86 year old Mom and of course, crafting will be high on my list of things to do to keep me busy.  I plan to keep up with all of you, so don’t be a stranger . . . here is my email at home  — marthadharris@gmail.com.  Blessings and thank you.
