EVOLVE Graduates 33

EVOLVE fall 2016 wrapped up on Wednesday, October 19^th with a Pecha Kucha and Maggiano’s filled graduation. 33 members of our sophomore and junior classes, including 17 transfer students completed the 8- week program that included an opening retreat, sessions facilitated by campus and community partners including, Rachel Eskridge, The Center for Student Wellbeing, Gregory Fontus, Inclusion Initiatives and Cultural Competence, Heather Lefkowitz, Peabody College, Sam Brasfield and Anthony Underhill, NROTC, our very own Brooke Wilson, and Amy Norton from Giant Worldwide, Inc. Each session focused on one of the competencies of the Leadership Excellence Philosophy Statement and the students were able to dive into Strengths education. As an addition to this year’s program, each staff member also had 12-13 students who we coached throughout the semester and will continue to maintain connection with during their time on campus. To complete the program each student created a Leadership Action Plan in the form of a 6 minute and 40 second visually driven presentation called Pecha Kucha.

We are proud of our graduates who make up the largest class of EVOLVE since the program began in 2014. We know that many of them are already making strong contributions on campus and will continue to do so as they work serve as “everyday leaders” at Vanderbilt. Thank you all for your nominations and to our campus partners who helped us make this program come to life this semester. Please reach out to these students and send them a message of congratulations and also include them in any of the great work you’re doing on campus.
