Jillian is originally from Redondo Beach, California but spent most of her life living in Burnsville, Minnesota. She has a B.S. in Education and Spanish from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse and a M.Ed. in International Higher Education from Loyola University Chicago.  While attending UW-La Crosse, Jillian spent a semester studying Spanish language and culture in Granada, Spain.  After returning to Minnesota, Jillian spent four years teaching Spanish in both Spanish immersion and traditional elementary schools.  While in her master’s program, she participated in two short-term study abroad programs in Beijing, China and Rome, Italy. Jillian also spent a semester as a graduate intern in the International Student Services office at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. At UST she had the opportunity to coordinate and develop events and programs for the university’s international student community.

In her free time, Jillian enjoys reading, spending time outdoors, and cooking. She also really likes live music, and is very excited to explore all that “Music City” has to offer!
