The Office of LGBTQI Life and the VU Medical Center program in LGBTI health trained the Vanderbilt School of Nursing faculty on inclusive terminology, classrooms environments, and medical practice. The training was a modified version of LGBTQI life’s 3-hour Safe Zone Program.

The trainings happened in two shifts, with pre-nursing faculty receiving the training in June and speciality faculty receiving training on September 9th. Dr. Betsy Kennedy, Director of Faculty Development for VUSN reports receiving “wonderful feedback” from the presentation.
