Residential Education Transitions

Dr. Lani San Antonio has assumed the responsibilities of the Associate Director of Residential Education for Upperclass Living Learning Communities.  Dr. San Antonio has been integral in several Residential Education initiatives in the last year including assisting in the creation of the Community Development Plans which includes the Meaningful Conversation model for the RA staff.  She also helped create the Commons Experience Model with the Dean of the Commons staff.  I know she will continue to bring innovation to the Living Learning Communities.  She will oversee departmental programming and also continue to lead the assessment efforts of Residential Education.

Dr. San Antonio is beginning her third year at Vanderbilt where for the first two she served as the liaison for Residential Education to the Martha Rivers Ingram Commons.  Prior to coming to Vanderbilt, she worked at Clemson University and the University of South Carolina.  She received a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and also in Communication from Salem College, a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of South Florida, and a Doctorate of Philosophy in Educational Leadership from Clemson University.


RC Stabile has been hired as the new Area Coordinator for Highland Quad, succeeding Doug Ashcroft.  He previously worked in housing and residence life at Stetson University and Indiana University of Pennsylvania.   He received a Master of Arts in Student Affairs in Higher Education from IUP and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Iona College.  He will be working closely with the Mayfield living-learning communities in Highland Quad and the Vanderbilt Recovery Support House.

 

Traci R. Ray has been hired as the Director of Residential Education.  In this role, Traci will serve as the liaison for Housing and Residential Education to the Martha Rivers Ingram Commons and Warren and Moore Colleges.  She will supervise the Residential Education staff and work closely with the Dean of the Commons, Faculty Heads of House, Faculty Directors, and the Dean of the Commons and Warren and Moore staffs to assist in achieving the goals of the College Halls at Vanderbilt.

Traci has been an Associate Director for Residential Education for eight years working primarily with Living Learning Communities, Departmental Programming efforts, and third party security.  Prior to coming to Vanderbilt, Traci worked at Southern Methodist University and the University of Tennessee.  She received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Masters of Counseling Psychology and Student Personnel Services, both from Oklahoma State University.  Traci is currently completing a Doctorate of Education in Higher Education Leadership at the University of Miami, Coral Gables campus.
