Congratulations to the following DOS staff members who reached educational milestones this May:

Lani San Antonio

Lani San Antonio, Associate Director for Residential Education, received her Doctor of Philosophy degree in Educational Leadership with a concentration in Higher Education and cognate in Human Resources Development on May 9, 2015 from Clemson University.  Her dissertation was titled “Understanding Underrepresented Women’s Experiences in Student Affairs at a Predominately White Institution through a Dynamic Network Analysis Framework.”  Dr. San Antonio’s innovative research will now be added to libraries and referenced by scholars all over the world.

Alex Hollifield

Alex Hollifield, Program Coordinator at the Margaret Cuninggim Women’s Center, completed her M.Ed. in Community Development and Action this May. Because Alex had a concentration in College Student Development, she was able to take various Higher Education Administration classes, such as Diversity and Equity in Higher Education and The College Student. Alex’s program emphasized social justice through community activism; it prepared her to work either in higher education or in the nonprofit sector.

We are very happy for Alex, and equally fortunate that she plans to continue to use her expertise here at Vanderbilt!

Kerrie Turney

Kerrie Turney, Area Coordinator for Branscomb Quad and Blakemore House, received her Master of Arts degree in Conflict Management from Lipscomb University on May 2, 2015.  Kerrie’s expertise as a certified conflict manager is now a resource that everyone in DOS can benefit from!
