This award is given to an outstanding DOS staff member who is in their first three years of full-time employment in the student affairs profession.
Criteria
Nominees for this award should have demonstrated a combination of the following:
– Superior professional excellence in overall job performance
– Outstanding service to both students and their specific department or division
– Willingness to assist beyond normal expectations
– Consistently exhibits initiative and/or creativity in her or his work

This award is given to a DOS department or staff member who has demonstrated inspirational innovation in the performance of their job duties.

– Exhibits initiative and/or creativity in her or his work
– Promotes an atmosphere of collaboration and cooperation both within their department and across departments
– Shows willingness to think “outside the box” and assist beyond normal expectations

KC Potter Outstanding Service to Students Award
This award is given to the DOS staff that has provided outstanding service to individual students or student groups on a consistent basis, whether through personal advising, development of programs, or improvements to university systems and policies that affect students.
Criteria
Nominees for this award should possess a combination of the following characteristics:
– Commitment to addressing students’ needs, concerns and expectations
– Consistent consideration of the impact on the student when taking action, setting policies or carrying out tasks
– Demonstrated pattern of involving students in decision-making or problem-solving processes
– Willingness to refer students and/or their families to an appropriate department or individual to solve specific challenges; and to perform appropriate follow-up so as to ensure that their issue/concern has been resolved
– Dedication to continuously improving student quality of life and removing barriers to providing outstanding student service
– Focus on student development as a holistic process in which co-curricular activities play a pivotal role
– Demonstrates superior professional excellence in overall job performance
– Exemplifies the values set forward by the Community Creed, with a particular emphasis on Honesty and Accountability.
